Public entity created by the Executive Decree No.46-91. It is the governing body of the scheme of Export Zones. His main assignment is to serve as a promoter and Regulatory Regime of Free Zones of Nicaragua.
Its functions include the meet, discuss and decide on the desirability of establishing new zones, granting operating permits to operators, users and zofas well as participate in the negotiation of international agreements or conventions relating to export processing zones.
Organizational Structure
The National Commission of Free Zones are thus as follows:
* The Minister of Finance and Public Credit
* The Minister of Development, Industry and Trade
* The Minister of Labor
* The Chairman of the Central Bank of Nicaragua
* One representative member of the Chamber of Industries of Nicaragua
Technical Secretariat
The administrative and technical matters of the Commission are carried out by a Technical Secretary, appointed by the President, who has the powers of a General Representative of Administration.
